The chancel, built in 1908, has been in it's current state since 1980. At that time, a refurbishment project saw the choir pews removed and substituted with oak chairs, the pilpit lowered and moved slightly towards the vestry door and the main floor area raised and extended in front of the chancle steps to give an intermediate level.
